Austin is a leader of data and R&D teams at growth-oriented software companies. In 2022, Austin joined Canva to lead R&D for their data platform. From 2014 to 2022, Austin built and led various data orgs at Atlassian. Before that, he built data and operations teams at Facebook and practiced public accounting.
Austin periodically speaks at industry events in Australia and the United States. He also enjoys surfing, helping his local community, and playing rugby union.
Austin is a proud Texas native and a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. He’s lived and worked in Silicon Valley, though he prefers warmer climates. He currently lives on the Far North Coast of Australia’s New South Wales with his wife, son, and pup.
